In October 2023, Related Tactics travelled to Milwaukee for Material Practice, a convening organized by the great team at Ruth Foundation for the Arts. During our time with the rest of the grantees, we offered a workshop considering “what if collectivity were material?” through prompts organized in our custom designed card deck. The exercise was an experiment to begin talking through the complexities of collaborative and collective practice; acting as a container to examine ideas, experiences, and perspectives on working together.

This exercise constructs a prompt by bringing together four non-comprehensive aspects of collaboration: goals (pink cards), creative actions (blue cards), condition of collective labor (yellow cards), and community (green cards).
