On Hospitality was originally written as a set of prompts by Related Tactics for Hello, Goodbye, Hello, a publication reflecting on 20 years of the Lucas Artists Residency Program at Montalvo. The 14 prompts were meant to explore the language of “hospitality” as it intersects with the lived experience of that said hospitality by artists of color in residential artist residency spaces. The original essay has been redesigned into a poster by Helen Shewolfe Tseng.
